About the area
A quiet area away from any busy main roads but easy access to the motorway as well as an array of local tourism villages, towns and Stirling City. Falkirk is close by with the Helix Park which is home to the Kelpies Sculpture, Falkirk Wheel and a good array of shops. For the history buffs among us Stirling Castle and Wallace's Monument can be seen on a clear day and are easy to visit.
The county of Clackmannanshire has a diverse selection of things to see and do, with historic sites, rivers and reserves for fishing, well served with bicycle routes and walks as well as the Ochil hills to explore. The main shopping area for the county is Alloa which has an array of supermarkets and eateries, Sterling Mills is a shopping village in the hillfoot village of Tillicoutry and has a variety of shops. Many of the villages in the county have independent shops and things to see. Clackmannan itself is a very historic little village, once a home of King Robert the Bruce who used the tower on the top of King's Seat Hill as a hunting lodge. The tower which looks out over the village and the flatlands as well as giving amazing views.
