Mrs Claus Special Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

50g of your favourite type of Chocolate
250ml of Milk (full fat is best, but semi skimmed works too)
50ml of Double Cream
2 Teaspoons of Sugar (might be required if you have a very sweet tooth)
Squirty Cream
Marshmallows

Instructions

1) Warm your milk in a pot over a gentle temperature, do not let it boil
2) Grate your chocolate
3) Slowly mix your chocolate into your warm milk (keep a little aside)
4) Keep stirring until all the chocolate has melted, then give a little whisk
5) Take off the heat and little cool very very slightly
6) Slowly whisk in your Double Cream very gently
7) Pour into your cup (add sugar if you need it)
8) Add the Marshmallows and Squirty Cream
9) Sprinkle the left over grated Chocolate on top
10) Curl up with a warm blanket, Christmas movie and hot chocolate, BLISS

 

Treacle Toffee

Ingredients

900g Light Brown Soft Sugar
300ml Water
150g Butter
½ Teaspoon Cream of Tartar
250g Black Treacle
150g Golden Syrup

Method

Grease tin and line it
Place sugar and water in a LARGE pot
Heat on medium heat until all sugar dissolves
DO NOT STIR
Add remaining ingredients
STIR ONCE
Bring to the boil
Boil until 132-143C reached (firm soft ball stage)
Remove from heat and pour into tray
Leave to set
Break up and enjoy

Scottish Tablet

A simple but brilliant recipe for Scottish Tablet, just how many granny made it. Yummy

Ingredients

900g Caster Sugar
250ml Milk
110g Butter
397g Tin of Condensed Milk

Method

Place sugar and milk in a LARGE pan over gentle heat
Stir occasionally until all the sugar has dissolved
Pre=grease a tin with a generous amount of butter and set aside
Once all the sugar has dissolved add the butter and allow it to melt
When butter has melted, add the condensed milk and mix well
Increase heat and stir continuously while the mixture boils and reaches 120C (Soft ball stage)
Remove from the heat and allow to settle a little
Beat with a wooden spoon in the pan until almost set
Transfer to tray and spread evenly
Leave to set
